I never really knew about this back in the day, but it came across my feed and I was like, those look like BBS graphics and I wonder if there's source code online. Anyways, long story short a few prompts to Codex and a bit of tug of war, here we are a few days later with what seems to be a fairly decent port.
Basically it is like a CP437 game engine made by the dude who started Epic Games, like Unreal engine, Fortnight and that stuff. I didn't really do much do it except add a shared high score server - and there's some experimental sound support in it that is optional as well as ANSI music. I didn't really bundle many games except the original ones, but that's because there's like literally thousands out there, I installed like probably 8000 games on my BBS.

Here's a short video not of the door game, but the original with fast cuts to music - not my video, but if I bothered to make one that's how I'd drop it, it's pretty much the same deal as it's just ASCII -
